Yes, the idea of One True Scheme has never really been the focus
anyway. There was a basic standard that allowed for experimentation in
different directions. Each Scheme implementation is an ERROR from the
perpsective of others:

  * some are lightning fast
  * some are chock-full of libraries
  * some have good .net connectivity (ok one :)
  * some have java inter-operability

And so on. So instead of true and perfect being the goalposts, one
meets some basic Scheme criteria and then goes off to experiment in
what way one sees fit. All the while creating a certain set of pros
and cons which are different from another Scheme's pros and cons, thus
each scheme being in ERROR w.r.t. to the other, but with ERROR being
perfectly ok.
